Alyson Schwichtenberg
Following an Undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Queen’s University, Alyson earned a Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto in 2018. Since this time she has helped clients with varying orthopaedic conditions resume normal activities of daily living, and return to the activities they love. Alyson uses a combination of manual therapy, soft tissue release, Medical Acupuncture, and personalized exercise programs in her treatment approach. Alyson enjoys staying up-to-date in the latest research, ensuring her assessment and treatment is evidence-based. Alyson has a special interest in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy, and has completed continuing education in this area (Levels 1-3). In addition to training in male and female Urinary Incontinence and Pelvic Pain, Alyson has taken supplementary courses with a focus on Pregnancy-Related Pelvic conditions (including Pelvic Girdle Pain and Diastasis Rectus Abdominis), Treating the Pelvic Floor without Kegels, Vulvodynia, Visceral Fascia Mobilization, and Female Hormonal Health. In her spare time Alyson enjoys running, strength training, baking, and spending time her family and two dogs.
